SeOPA 2021 Year-End Stakeholders Report

To our Valued Stakeholders:

It is our pleasure to once again share the highlights of our development efforts over the past year via the enclosed Year-in-Review. Similar to 2020, this year was marked by significant change for the Southeastern Ohio Port Authority (SeOPA). In January, we successfully completed our acquisition of the former AEP Muskingum River Plant – now called the Muskingum River Industrial Park – doing so in cooperation with the Belpre Industrial Parkersburg Railroad. In May, we sold the Ingenuity Center – a 35,000 SF commercial building located in the 7N Commerce Park in Reno – to our long-time tenant Grae-Con Process Piping and Electric. These two transactions set the tone for what proved to be an action-packed year for development in Washington County!

As we approach the new year, more change is on the horizon as we relocate our offices to 223 Putnam Street, where we will take up occupancy across the hall from the County Commissioners. In October 2022, SeOPA will celebrate its 20th anniversary. To honor this milestone, we intend to host an in-person event that will allow us to review our activity for the year, while celebrating two decades of growth and success as the lead economic development agency for Washington County. We will release more details concerning this event early next year.

Based on this year’s activity and our current project pipeline, we are confident that Washington County will experience growth across a variety of measures in the years ahead. If you would like to learn more about anything discussed in our report, please contact staff via any method listed in the footer. On behalf of our staff and Board of Directors, “Thank You!” for your continued support of our organization. We wish you a Happy Holidays and all the best in 2022!

With sincere gratitude,

SeOPA Board of Directors and Staff
